Malaysia is looking at a possible terror link in the disappearance of a Malaysia Airlines plane. The plane was believed to have gone down in the sea with 239 people aboard, the country”s transport minister said.
However, Vietnamese air force planes have spotted two large oil slicks off the southern tip of Vietnam, which may be from the missing plane. The slicks are consistent with the kinds that would be left by fuel from a crashed jetliner. Terror links is also suspected as two passengers had fake passports. When Malaysian Airlines released information about passengers on board the plane, it emerged that two passengers were traveling on stolen passports.
Malaysian aviation authority official told the media that search for the missing plane had been unsuccessful so far. According to news.com.au, the Department of Civil Aviation will extend the search and rescue operation to the Straits of Malacca, as Malaysian authorities are now awaiting the latest satellite imagery for any signs of wreckage from flight MH370. A spokesperson for the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade said the government ”fears the worst” for those aboard the flight.
The Beijing-bound Malaysia Airlines flight MH370, a Boeing 777-200 aircraft, lost contact with Subang Air Traffic Control at 5.40am (AEST). Malaysia Airlines said the passengers were from 14 different countries and has released the full passenger list with the names, nationalities and ages of those on board, the report added. (ANI)
