Hyderabad, August 05: Police here today nabbed five persons who were allegedly preparing fake residential and identification documents for applicants seeking passports on Tatkal schemes and seized incriminating material from them.
Mohd Yousufuddin alias Yousuf, a passport agent along with his aides used to prepare fake documents including Voter ID and ration cards for passport applicants who did not have such documents, Hyderabad Police Commissioner A K Khan told reporters.
Several applications with fake voter ID or residential proof were submitted at Passport office here and many passports were issued in the last two years based on the documents given, Khan said, adding, “Involvement of some passport office employees in issuance of the passport is being probed.”
Police seized one Computer, holograms, fake ration and voter ID cards, fake rubber stamps and other incriminating material from their possession. Further investigations were on.
