Fake IT officials gang held,booty recovered

The CCS sleuths of Saroornagar have apprehended all the seven accused, who had intruded into the house of one Akurathi Srinivas Rao at Sharada Nagar, Vanasthalipuram on the morning of October 19 this year and took away gold ornaments, silver articles and cash Rs 2,30,000 claiming themselves as IT officials. The sleuths cracked the mystery and recovered gold ornaments weighing 40 tolas, silver articles weighing 90 tolas and cash Rs 2,30,000. The value of the booty was Rs 15,00,000.

The police stated that the culprits had detained the complainant, his wife and children in a bedroom and ransacked almirahs and cupboards in all bedrooms and took away the valuables. While leaving the house, the culprits told the complainant to visit Income Tax office and recollect all the items after producing proper bills and submitting accounts.

While leaving the house, one of the culprits handed over to the complainant a fabricated letterhead of Income Tax department along with Telugu computer report.
The accused were identified as Nakka Raghu Kumar of Ilavaram under Battiprolu mandal of Guntur district, Garikapati Naga Chiranjeevi Rao, Katikala Vivekanand alias Nani, Madda Raja Ranjith Kumar, Tiriveeri Madhu Babu, Yedavelli Venkata Subramanya Ravi Kiran alias Sonu Sett,
