Fake degree gang busted in Delhi

New Delhi [India]: The Delhi Police on Thursday arrested one person, accused of running a consultancy agency with his other members, which distributed fake degrees and certificates to the needy.

Accused Rupesh Kumar’s interrogation led to the arrest of his associates Rithesh Kumar, Someer Kumar and Mukesh Takhur.

On sustained interrogation, Rupesh disclosed that the degrees were provided to him by Ritesh Kumar.

Shahbazul Haque made a complaint in Tilak Nagar Police Station on January 23, alleging that he had contacted Rupesh Kumar

But instead of providing admission to class 10th, Rupesh provided him degree, mark sheet and migration certificate of 10th class of the year 2003, having the name and photographs of the complainant.

Haque was assured by Rupesh that he could join the course and after completing the same, a 10th pass certificate would be given. He paid Rs. 5,000 to Ritesh. The complainant was told that he needs to pay an additional amount of Rs. 5,000.

Later, the complainant found that the marksheet given to him was fake.

On the statement of the complainant, a case vide FIR No.68/17, Dated 06.02.17, U/s 420/467/468/471/34 IPC, was registered and investigation was taken up.

Accused Rupesh, Mukesh, Ritesh and others used to obtain fake degrees from Someer Kumar and his associates through courier, e-mail and Whatsapp. Accused Someer Kumar used to obtain degrees from another person who is from Bhiwani. (ANI)
