Fake cops steal from jeweller

Hyderabad, May 19: Pseudo-policemen snatched away two gold biscuits weighing 169 grams in the Old City on Wednesday.

Two persons, posing as policemen, diverted the attention of a jewellery shop owner and snatched the gold under the pretext of checking his bag, police said. The victim, Srinivasa Chary, owns a jewellery store in Nalgonda.

Chary came to the city to order for gold ornaments at jewellery stores in Old City.

He came with two gold biscuits to have them weighed at a gold shop at Kothagalli.

He was walking towards Gulzar Houz to a jewellery store when two persons approached him and identified themselves as Task Force personnel.
