New Delhi: The Delhi high court on Monday extended the deadline to finish the probe involving DUSU president in the alleged fake certificate case when the opposition NSUI accused the authorities of delaying the matter.
The DU is now given time until November 20 finish the probe and submit its report on Ankiv Baisoya’s alleged fake accounts he had submitted to get admission in DU.
Justice C Hari Shankar hearing the case noted the report in connection with the fake certificates from Thiruvalluvar University is yet to arrive.
He allowed the extension to DU to submit the after its arrival.
Though the petitioner and NSUI vice-presidential candidate, Sunny Chillar opposed the extension citing two months time period was expired as per the Lyngdoh committee norms and that could mean there can’t be a re-election and ABVP would benefit, TOI reports.
But the HC responded that the court shall examine all issues once the report was submitted and adjourned the matter.
Earlier, HC had fixed November 12 as the deadline for DU to complete its probe regarding the fake certificates of Ankiv Baisoya.
