On May 20, 2014, Rs. 6.4 lakh were distributed among victims of Kishan Bagh riots at Siasat office the amount was distributed by Faiz-e-Aam Trust and Inayat Welfare and Charitable Trust through Siasat Millat Fund. On the occasion Faiz-e-Aam Trust had promised to grant an aid of Rs. 10000 to a poor woman Parveen Sultana. Hence Rs. 25000 was handed over to her by Siasat editor Mr. Zahed Ali Khan to reopen the kirana shop.
According to Parveen Sultana when the riot erupted, miscreants destroyed her shop completely. They didn’t even spare the roof of the house and shop. The woman, in a voice choked with tears, told that Siasat and Faiz-e-Aam Trust has raised a new hope and built spirit in her. She has been running kirana shop at Arsh Mahal, Kishan Bagh and bringing up her 5 children (4 daughters and one son), while her husband is a butler. He remained unwaged when he doesn’t find work. In this situation the kirana shop was a blessing for the family. After the destruction of house and shop the family depended upon the ration provided by charitable persons.
