Hyderabad, July 20: Fair & Lovely Foundation has invited applications from deserving young girls from across the State for award of scholarships up to Rs one lakh. The scholarships are granted to pursue graduation, post-graduation and Ph.D studies. The aid is given to promising young girls, who have the commitment and determination to make a difference in their lives.
It is an initiative by Fair & Lovely, the leading fairness cream brand of Hindustan Unilever Limited, commenced its program in 2003. Since then, it has been transforming the lives of more than 700 girls through the financial assistance it extends to them. Now it is in its eighth year.
The basic eligibility criterion for the scholarship is a minimum of 60% marks in Class X and XII. For more details, the intending applicants can log on to www.fairandlovely.in. Applications can also be downloaded or submitted online on the same website. Aspiring candidates can also call on the toll free number 1800 220 130 for more information. The last date for submission of application forms is August 13.

Eminent icons like danseuse Vani Ganapathy, former chairperson of State Women’s Commission Mary Ravindranath, actress Saakshi Tanwar, swimmer and Arjuna award recipient Nisha Millet, politician and designer Shaina NC; Bollywood singer Kavita Krishnamurthi; TV anchor and actress Rakshanda Khan, advocate Pinky Anand and the likes have been panelists.
