“The Ministry has taken up some serious steps and that is the reason for organizing this big Mela. Around 29 states are taking part along with one from Myanmar. And I request the ministers to enhance the farmer’s activities, mainly in the medicinal plant,” said N Biren Singh, Chief Minister, Manipur.

The event was inaugurated by Chief Minister N. Biren Singh in presence of Union Minister of State for AYUSH (Independent Charge), Shripad Yesso Naik.

According to reports, of the total 10,000 identified medical and aromatic plants found in different parts of the world, Manipur has around 500 varieties of plants. During the fair, 42 stalls including one from Myanmar, leading AYUSH drug manufacturing companies, processing units and drug testing laboratories were displayed.
