Jhelum:A chipboard factory was set ablaze by an angry mob over allegations of blasphemy on owner and workers of the factory in Pakistan’s Jhelum District on Friday.
The mob was enraged after a report surfaced that an employee of the factory allegedly desecrated the Holy Quran, reported Dawn.
According to reports, head of security at the factory, Qamar Ahmed Tahir, was earlier arrested for allegedly burning the Holy book.
When this news reached a local mosque, they announced it on the loud speaker, following which people from nearby villages gathered and set ablaze the chipboard factory.
The owner’s residence, adjoining the factory, was also set on fire. (ANI)
