Lucknow, April 16: A factory producing adulterated ghee was unearthed in Ghaziabad district of Uttar Pradesh today and six people were arrested in this connection.
Police seized 100 drums of raw fat, seven drums of ghee besides seven drums of adulterated ghee made in the factory, Additional Director General of Police, Law and Order, Brij Lal said here.
Those arrested told the police that they used to get animal fat from slaughter houses for making ghee, the ADG said adding that they used to mix over two kg ghee with 20 kg raw fat.
They were supplying this ghee under the brand of “Chand” to Mustafabad area of Delhi, the ADG said.
A manhunt is on to nab the owner of the factory and a case has been registered, the ADG added.
