New Delhi: Reports of Facebook testing using Aadhar to counter fake accounts is doing the internet rounds which is soon to become a reality.
No official statement has been released by the giant social network but few users have spotted this new feature on their mobile apps when trying to log in or open a new social account but the giant networking platform has already begun testing the use of Aadhar details for creating a new account which the company says is a way to counter fake accounts.
A Reddit user who goes by the name Ayetatti has spotted the feature first. An Aadhar prompt comes which will ask you to enter your card details saying “Using the name on your Aadhaar card makes it easier for friends to recognize you.”
Now the new feature doing rounds we are not sure if Facebook plans to make the Aadhaar mandatory for its users. So far the prompt displays when you try to create an account from Facebook’s mobile site i.e.(m.facebook.com) reported Times Now.
