Sony Pictures has acquired the movie rights to the Facebook’s chief operating officer (COO) Sheryl Sandberg’s book “Lean In” based on female-empowerment.
According to Cnet, the “LeanIn.org” foundation, which technically owns the rights to Sandberg’s book, licensed the name to Sony.
All proceeds from the licensing deal will go to the foundation, and not to Sandberg, the report added.
The adaptation of “Lean In: Women, Work, And The Will to Lead,” published last March, will not be a biopic of Sandberg, instead it will revolve around the themes presented in the book.
Sandberg’s ” Lean In” writing partner, Nell Scovell will be penning the movie narrative, the report added. (ANI)
