London,October 02: Arsenal captain Cesc Fabregas insists he will ignore the latest round of rumours linking him with a move to Barcelona.
Fabregas has been a target for the European champions for several seasons and the Spain midfielder’s future is back on the agenda after Barcelona midfielder Xavi claimed the Gunners star was certain to move to the Nou Camp soon because the Catalan club are in his blood.
Fabregas began his career in Barca’s youth academy before joining Arsenal but, while he admitted he was flattered to hear a player like Xavi praise him, he has no intention of walking out on Arsene Wenger’s side.
“It doesn’t upset me what Xavi says, not at all. It is very flattering from a great player like Xavi,” Fabregas told The Sun.
“But I am the captain of Arsenal and I have a job to do here. Everyone has their own life and you do what you feel is better for you.
“Being at Arsenal is the best thing for me at the moment. I want to win things here and I’m very comfortable with Arsenal.
“I love London, it’s a great city, it’s like my house, it’s really good.
“It is very important for a player to feel at home and I feel like that.”
