Extravagance in weddings and excessive ceremonies lead to disintegration of families

Mr. Abid Rasool Khan Chairman AP Minorities Commission urged Muslims to avail government schemes, as the budget earmarked for the welfare and prosperity of minorities is not spent completely each year. He told that mass marriage scheme of the government is not popular among Muslims as Muslims usually think inappropriate to conduct mass marriage under government’s patronage. Hence Minority Commission has proposed to the government to give Rs. 50000 to the family of each poor Muslim girl so that they can spend the amount on their own to conduct marriage. He was addressing the 24th Du Ba Du programme at Prime Garden Function Hall at L B Nagar.

Mr. Zahed Ali Khan presided over the function. Maulana Hafez Peer Shabbir Ahmed MLC and president Jamiatul Ulama Hind Andhra Pradesh congratulated Mr. Zahed Ali khan that easy settlement of marriage has become possible due to efforts of Siasat daily and MDF. He declared excessive ceremonies in wedding as un-Islamic and said this is leading to disintegration of families. It is also affecting couple’s marital life. He added.

Mr. Zahed Ali Khan during his presidential address said the movement against dinner post nikah is welcomed by every corner. Mr. Zaheeruddin Ali Khan managing editor Siasat monitored the programme.

More than 3000 parents and guardians attended the programme and nearly 310 new registrations were made. As per the reports, 23 alliances were settled during the programme including 6 second marriage.
