Mumbai, July 05: Kambakkht Ishq is touted as the movie that can help the Hindi film industry sail through difficult times. The film is very important for Akshay Kumar as it can either make or break his career.
After a string of duds, Akshay also hopes to rise above his peers in this extravagant blockbuster.
Kareena: She plays two solid roles; one of a surgeon and the other of a supermodel. Her clothes and fifty-two stilettos were bought from the fashion capitals of Milan and Paris by designer Aki Narula. The producer, Sajid Nadiadwala, gifted Kareena a Rs8 lac (Approx. Dhs62,ooo), Emporio Armani dress which she wears in the film. Other designerwear that she sports in the movie are Roberto Cavalli and Stella McCartney. Kareena is also seen in a one-piece bikini where she shows off her curves that she put on for the movie as Sajid wanted her to look voluptuous for the film. She’s got a song especially written for her called Bebo Mein Bebo.
That’s not all, the movie also has a song Lakh Lakh which has a line Prada ka bag leke chali kahan… where she is seen with a Prada bag. Could it be that Prada is sponsoring the movie?
Akshay Kumar: He gets to be a well established stuntman (even in real life) doing crazy stuff for Hollywood. To prove it he’s even done some stunts for Superman Brandon Routh who chickened out last moment during the shoot. It seems like they love Akshay so much in Hollywood that some onlookers mistook him for Nicholas Cage whilst shooting.
Akshay has got more than what he bargained for with this film. Thanks to his ‘male chauvinist’ character, he shares many passionate smooches with Denise Richards and Kareena Kapoor. One also hears that Akki has kissed Kareena not once but ten times. His lip-locking skills have certainly mesmerised Denise who crowned him ‘the great kisser!’
Amrita Arora: She may look insanely hot in this film but all of it came with a price. Amrita worked like a beast just to fit into those tiny pieces and to pull off the model look. She has best friend Kareena to thank for the yoga training and the diet tips.

Hottest locations: Kareena’s scenes as a surgeon are all shot in V. A Hospital the same place where America’s hit television drama Grey’s Anatomy is shot. The awards scenes are shot in The Kodak Theatre also known as the Academy Awards venue. There are scenes shot in Universal studios, Santa Monica Pier, Beverly Hills and Sunset Boulevard to name a few. Finally Akshay rides the same bike used by Tom Cruise in Mission Impossible.
Price Tag: The film has crossed a budget of a staggering 65 crores (Dhs50.3 million). The most expensive shot was taken at the Kodak Studios which cost producer Sajid Nadiadwala 1.5 crores (Dhs1.16million) a day with 4000 people in the auditorium. They shot for two consecutive days there.
