Extra Marital Affair Turns into Murder

Sharjah, March 25: A 27-year old Indian, was sentenced to death by the Sharjah Shariah Court of First Instance for the murder of the husband of his paramour.

The court also sentenced Sanaa, the 26-year old Indian wife of the Pakistani victim to life imprisonment and ordered her to pay Dh100,000 as blood money.

The court ruled that the wife and her boyfriend killed and hacked the victim with a saw after beating him to death in a remote area.

The verdict was read out at a session headed by judge Yaqoub Al Hamadi in the presence of public prosecutor Ganem Al Mansouri.

Sanaa was arrested after her 35-year old husband’s body was found in Al Barashi district on February last year.

The male defendant managed to evade the police at first, but landed in the police net on the border of a neighbouring country on July 6.

Two women, a Pakistani and an Indian, alerted the police on the role of the two in the death of the Pakistani.

Police said the woman and her boyfriend planned to murder her husband when he was drunk.

They made him consume alcohol until he became unconscious and then drove him to a deserted spot.

They then clubbed and hacked him to death with a saw.

There was no trace of evidence at the crime scene, police said.

But Criminal Investigation Department officers suspected the role of the victim’s wife when they found his clean car on the day the body was found.

During interrogation, the victim’s wife confessed to killing her husband with the help of her Indian lover.
