Former MP Ponnam Prabhakar on Sunday demanded that the Telangana Government extend the schemes of three acres of land to minorities across the STate.
Speaking to media persons at Gandhi Bhavan here, Ponnam said that the government should include poor minorities in the State as beneficiaries of the land scheme on par with Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes. He also condemned the slow implementation of the scheme. Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao has launched the scheme on August 15 this year and gave land certificates to a few beneficiaries. However, no follow up action was taken and lakhs of other beneficiaries are still waiting to get promised three-acre land, he said.
Ponnam said that the State Government should hasten the implementation of project and complete distribution of three acres land to all poor Dalits and Girijans. Further, the government should include poor minorities in the scheme. (INN)
