Extend Metro Rail to Rajiv Airport: KTR

Hyderabad: Caretaker Minister K T Rama Rao today said that Metro Rail will be expanded to Shamshabad International airport for better connectivity and make Hyderabad free from pollution as part of turning it a global city.

Addressing a meeting of “Spirit of Hyderabad” here attended by heads of several IT companies, the minister has informed that the government will expand IT and Sports in a big way. The government is committed for transforming the city of pearls into a global destination with all facilities with a focus on expanding greenery to beat the pollution. As part of the plan the works are in full swing related to better roads, rail and air travel, roads, serene and green environs and law and order. Our aim is to provide the denizens in the city to make a better and improved living in complete peace and tranquillity and enjoy the bliss of brotherhood and cozy atmosphere.

On coming to power after December 7 polls, the TRS regime will complete the related works of transforming the city into a global destination, he said. The four-and-a-half years TRS dispensation has made its best efforts for industrial and business sector by launching a hassle-free mechanism of getting permissions in just 15 days. The TRS regime, he claimed, has been spending 43 per cent of budget for welfare of the State like no other State in India. “We are encouraging the top-notch companies, global and international businesses to rope in with investments and increase productivity and provide employment to the youth in the city”, he said.

The Hyderabad city was developed manifold and became a global hub for IT, education, health and industries, he added. He also said badminton aces Saina Nehwal and Kashyap called on him and invited him for their marriage.
