The GHMC has set up close to 1,300 flower pots on the central medians along the PV Narasimha Rao Expressway to give a glance of greenery to commuters on this stretch.
The bougainvilleas which at present titivate the expressway have been provided with a drip irrigation system as well for which four sintex tanks with a capacity of 5,000 litres have been erected.
Varieties of Bougainvillea like Formosa, glabara, torch glow, sp singh, thimma, Dr. Rao, subra varieties have been used for planting
Rs 64.65 lakhs was spent on the whole setup for the beautification of 11-kilometres stretch of PVNR Express Way.
