Hyderabad, August 27: Mr. Zahid Ali Khan, Editor, Siasat and Mr. Zaheruddin Ali Khan, Managing Editor, Siasat, expressed satisfaction that accepting the recommendations of National Minorities Commission, the Chief Minister has declared to extend financial assistance to the innocent Muslim Youths who were falsely implicated in Makkah Masjid bomb blast case and were arrested by the State Police.
They said that the Chief Minister’s announcement indicates that there were excesses by the police and the Muslim youths were unnecessarily harassed. The Chief Minister has promised that compensation would be given to the Muslim youths and good character certificates would also be issued. It is not enough. The compensation should be deducted from the salaries of the erring police officers and stern action should be taken against them so that it forms a precedent.
Mr. Yousuf Quraishi welcomed the announcement made by the C.M. He was happy that during the tenure of his chairmanship, State Minorities Commission had recommended for compensation. He urged the C.M. to reconstitute State Minorities Commission immediately. He further said that by making this announcement, he has proved that he imparts justice.
Major Syed Ghouse Mohiuddin Quadri of “Help Hyderabad” who made untiring efforts for getting the compensations for the innocent Muslim youths also expressed his joy and said that this is a victory of all those persons and organizations who struggled in this case. He expressed the need to take stringent action against the police officers who falsely implicated the Muslim youths so that it becomes a precedent for the future. By doing so, the narrow minded and communal attitude of the Police officers would be checked.
