A huge cache of explosives were today seized from a car and three persons were arrested in Sahibganj, known for its stone quarries, the police said.
Getting a tip-off that 800 gelatin sticks and 800 detonators were being transported by a car, police intercepted
the car at Maharajpur railway crossing bridge and seized the consignment, Deputy Superintendent of Police Vijay Kumar Kujur said.
Three of its occupants—Uday Kumar Gupta, Munna Singh and Safiqul—have been arrested. As they don’t have explosive
license we are interrogating them to ascertain why they were in possession of the explosives,” Kujur said.
