Expired teargas shells used at OU campus

Hyderabad, July 7: Students active in Telangana movement have expressed deep concern over the use of teargas shells by Central paramilitary forces to disperse agitators at Osmania University campus as from some unused teargas shells it was revealed that the teargas shells used have been expired. There is a risk of eyesight getting severely affected with the use of expired teargas shells.

48-hour Bandh was observed on Tuesday and Wednesday on the appeal made by Telangana Joint Action Committee during which police forces lobbed large numbers of teargas shells to disperse agitating students.

An activist of student union Mahesh while talking to Siasat correspondent showed unused teargas shell, the expiry date written on it was elapsed. The stickers on the teargas shells clearly indicate that the shells were made by BSF and the expiry date was 2010.
