Howrah: Six class IX students were expelled last month by Shibpur BE College Model school authorities for kissing inside the classroom during Durga Puja vacation last year.
Guardians of two among the six expelled students -three boys and three girls, appealed the institution situated in Howrah to re-admit the students on Tuesday, but the authorities refused the plea, TOI reports.
“Other students complained against the six. CCTV images confirmed it,” headmaster S B Gayen said.
“We allowed the six students to appear for their annual exams but the managing committee decided they would be expelled after that. We called their parents on December 26, the day the results were out. They were told their kids would not be allowed to study here. Four of their parents sought our help to get their wards admitted to other schools, who are now studying elsewhere.”
