New Delhi: Former Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) leader Nasimuddin Siddiqui, along with his supporters, joined the Congress Party on Thursday.
Siddiqui was a close-aide of BSP chief Mayawati and also held the post of a cabinet minister in her state government in Uttar Pradesh, before getting expelled from the party.
Mayawati had expelled Siddiqui from the party in May 2017, following the BSP’s humiliating defeat in the Uttar Pradesh Assembly election.
Siddiqui had also been accused of usurping party funds.
Post expulsion, he had also floated a new party – the Rashtriya Bahujan Morcha. (ANI)
