Expedite schemes to benefit people, CM tells Dt Collectors

Exhorting the Collectors to coordinate with all other departments, Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao today directed the former to expeditiously take forward government schemes to benefit the people.

Addressing a two-day Collectors conference at Hotel Marriot here, he directed the Collectors and other officials to take up on a war footing the schemes and programs of the government to reach out to the people. Stating that the priority of the TRS Government is to provide safe and pure drinking water to people in the next five years, he gave a pat to the officials concerned for succeeding in their endeavours to overcome power crisis. ‘We will sure reach our target of providing drinking water’ he said. KCR also exuded confidence that there will be no power cuts in future as the Government will soon get additional 2000 mw of power. The Chief Minister also said that Rs 91,500 crore has been earmarked for power sector and the government will provide uninterrupted power supply to the industries and others.
KCR vowed to address the key problems such as power supply, drinking water and stressed on the district administration to focus on welfare of the people besides giving equal priority to development. Though prior to 1956, 20 lakh acres were getting timely irrigation waters, later during Seemandhra rule lakes were destructed, he alleged. Now the lakes will be restored to ensure water for crops, he asserted. (NSS)
