A Cabinet Sub-Committee at a meeting today discussed on the double-bedroom scheme and housing projects in the State.
Presiding over the meeting, Housing Minister A Indrakaran Reddy said as part of constructing two-bedroom houses, tenders for one lakh houses were called for and the process will be expedited for the rest. The Sub-Committee asked the officials to expedite the process of the projects as the government is to keep its promise to provide permanent shelter to the poor families.
On finding the officials calling tenders to construct the houses, the minister said a field-level visit will be made to those ventures jointly taken up. Another meeting will take a decision on extending time for the completion of the project as it was being sought by the Housing Board and private companies. Indrakaran said they are examining the issue of delay in releasing funds for Indiramma housing project.
Finance Minister Eatala Rajender, Transport Minister P Mahender Reddy and officials were among those participated in the discussions on the housing projects. (NSS)
