DAMMAM: An Indian worker was buried alive accidentally when a truck loaded with sand was being unloaded.
The expatriate was busy talking on his cell phone when the truck driver dumped the sand on him.
The driver was not aware of the man standing behind the truck when he was unloading it. The man fell down and got buried under the sand and died on the spot.
This is not the first time that this kind of incident happened in Qatif. According to some expatriates, sand truck drivers do not care about safety rules that must be considered while unloading their trucks.
They said. “The drivers should ensure that there are no children or people behind the truck.”
The Eastern Province police Ziad Al-Ruqaiti confirmed the death, he said “The Tarout police station received a word about the accident on Wednesday evening,” he said. “The man was in his 40s and he died instantly.”
The man’s body was taken to a government hospital for necessary procedures.
