CM of AP Mr. N. Kiran Kumar Reddy will lay down the foundation stone for the expansion of road in Karwan Assembly constituency on the Wakf land belonging to Toli Masjid but the construction work will not start. The expansion work of the road admeasuring 3 km upto 100 feet is a matter of subjudice in a court of law.
AP Wakf Tribunal has criticized heavily on the acquisition of Wakf Land and bound GHMC not to start any construction work on this property. Presiding officer of AP Wakf Tribunal, Mr. Shaik Mohammed Rafi has given conditional permission for the inauguration of road expansion work which is taking place today and instructed GHMC not to start any construction work. These orders were passed by the Tribunal on the petition submitted by Mr. Osman Bin Mohammed Al-Hajiri, President Deccan Wakf Protection Society. During the arguments in Wakf Tribunal, the pleader of Mr. Osman Bin Al-Hajiri, Mr. Syed Altaf Mehdi expressed his surprise that who is the protector of Wakf properties. He mentioned that in the name of road expansion Govt. is usurping Wakf land whereas AP State Wakf Board is keeping quiet as a silent spectator.
