Exhibition on Deccan architecture

Hyderabad, December 29: A three-day architectural exhibition of sketches on Chalukyan, Kakatiya, Qutub Shahi and Asaf Jahi architecture will begin from Tuesday at the Indo-British Academy at Lakdi-ka-Pul. Over 50 sketches portraying the architecture of the four distinct periods in the Deccan history by Prof Nawab Mir Azmath Ali Khan, professor of architecture, Vaishnavi of and Planning will be exhibited. the grandson of Sikander Jah Bahadur, Nizam III, Nawab Mir Azmath Ali Khan is an internationally renowned architect and architectural artist. He has held 39 solo exhibitions of his works in India, Saudi Arabia, UK, US and Germany.

The Indo-British academy that offers civil and architectural courses will host his sketches of rich Hyderabadi architecture. The exhibition will be open to all between 10 a.m and 4 p.m on December 28, 29 and 30. Vijay Kishore, Principal, School of Planning and Architecture (Jawaharlal Nehru architecture and Fine Arts University) will inaugurate the exhibition at 10 a.m.

During the three days, lectures on Asif Jahi monuments by Dr Bhaskar Rao, curator, Nizam’s Museum, on Kakatiya architecture by Prof Cheena Reddy, Director, Department of Archeology and Museums and Qutub Sahi monuments by Sajjad Shahid, secretary, Architectural Heritage Foundation, will also be held.
