Telugu Desam Party (TDP) senior leader and former Minister Muddasani Damodar Reddy passed away at NIMS hospital here today due to illness.
Mr Reddy had been ailing for the past two three years and was admitted to NIMS hospital last week, where he breathed his last this afternoon.
He was 56. He is survived by his wife and a son.
He was elected to the Assembly for four times from Kamalapur Assembly constituency in Karimnagar district since 1985. He was defeated in the 2004 elections during Telangana wave.
He was party in-charge of Huzurabad constituency in Karimnagar district.
He was thrice Minister in both NT Rama Rao and Chandrababu Naidu cabinets.
TDP Chief N Chandrababu Naidu, who was in the midst of by-polls election campaign at Tirupati in Chittoor district, expressed his condolences.
Mr Naidu, has cancelled tomorrow’s election campaign in Kadapa district, to attend the funeral at Mamidalapalli in Veenavenka Mandal of Karimnagar district tomorrow. UNI KNR VV AK1845
