Ex-serviceman arrested for raping daughter

New Delhi, June 11: A 40-year-old ex-servicemen was arrested on Wednesday for allegedly raping his teenaged daughter in Sultanpuri area of outer Delhi. Police said the accused had repeatedly raped his 16-year-old daughter over the last two-and-a-half months.

The girl, a class XI student at a government college in the area, narrated the incident to her mother after which her mother took her to the police station and lodged a complaint.

Police registered a case after a medical examination of the victim at the Sanjay Gandhi Hospital confirmed rape. In her complaint, the victim told police that her father used to threaten her and her mother of dire consequences due to which they were never able to approach the police.

However, when the father allegedly raped the girl again on Tuesday, her mother decided to approach the police. The mother even sought police protection for the daughter and her younger son who was also threatened by the father. Police said they would provide security to the victim. A case of rape has been registered at Sultanpuri police station. The ex-servicemen was working as a security guard in a private firm. He was produced before the court and remanded to judicial custody.
