New Delhi: In a bid to defame former Vice President Hamed Ansari, some retired officers of secret agency of India RAW have levelled serious allegations against him.
Making a staggering claim against former diplomat and ex-Vice President Hamid Ansari, ex-Research and Analysis Wing (R&AW) officer NK Sood said that the former had played a crucial role in exposing R&AW setup in Tehran thereby endangering the lives of unit members. After saying that, he also questioned the appointment of Ansari as a Vice President for two consecutive terms.
In his tweet, Sood, who retired from the foreign intelligence agency in 2010, said: “I was in Tehran, Iran n Hameed Ansari was ambassador in Tehran. Ansari had played a crucial role in exposing RAW set-up in Tehran endangering lives of RAW unit members. But this very man was made vice President for two consecutive terms.”

Hamid Ansari had joined the Indian Foreign Service in 1961 and served in Iraq, Morocco, Belgium and Saudi Arabia. He also served as the Indian Ambassador to the UAE, Australia, Afghanistan, Iran and Saudi Arabia.
It must be noted that the RAW officers’ are making allegations about the thing which occurred nearly 3 decades ago and two governments ruled during the said period. Analysts feel that the purpose behind these allegations could be to question former Vice President’s patriotism and to make believe others that Indian Muslims are not loyal towards their country.
It must be recalled that it was tried to unnecessarily drag Hamed Ansari into controversy earlier as well. People belonging to a particular party had targeted him even when he was the Vice President.
