Saudi newspapers on Thursday published what they said was the photograph of a famous Saudi hacker known as Ex-Omar, who had hit headlines with his attacks on Israel’s key websites before he died last month.
Identified as Rashid bin Mubarak Al Subaei and nicknamed “The Conqueror of the Jews”, the 28-year-old Al Subaei is believed to have died of a severe asthma fit at a hospital in Saudi Arabia just two days after he was given a job at a government establishment in Riyadh.
Alsaudi Arabic language daily said Al Subaei’s photograph has been circulated on websites, social networks and mobile phones in the world’s dominant oil power and largest Arab economy.
“He dedicated his life to the defence of Islam…he is believed to have rejected an offer from a Jewish company for a monthly salary of $50,000 to work for it to develop its information protection systems,” the paper said.
“Al Subaei died just two days after getting a government job in Riyadh…he was on his way to the mosque for prayers when he suffered from a severe asthma fit…he was rushed to hospital but died there.”
The paper said Ex-Omar was holder of a bachelor university degree in Arabic language and is “very skilful and a genius in computer systems.”
