Hyderabad, march 19: The Andhra Pradesh Congress Committee, which recently suspended some of its party members for alleged anti-party activities in the elections for MLC seats from local bodies, yesterday took action against 13 party leaders, including former minister, ex-MPs and ex-MLAs, of East Godavari district based on a report submitted by the DCC president.
APCC president D Srinivas issued orders for immediate expulsion of former MLA Kudupudi Chittabbayi, believed to be the supporter of former Kadapa MP Jagan Mohan Reddy, for being in the fray against the official candidate in the MLC elections under the local bodies quota from East Godavari district scheduled to take place on March 21.
The APCC chief also issued orders suspending another 12 members believed to be Jagan followers for their alleged anti-party activities in connection with the forthcoming MLC elections. Among those are former MPs Mudragada Padmanabham, Thota Gopalakrishna, B Maheswara Rao, former minister Jakkampudi Rammohan Rao, former MLAs V Subba Rao, C Jaggi Reddy, PCC members K Raju, Reddy Radha Krishna, DCMS chairman Reddy Prasad, Mahila DCC president K Nirmala Kumari, Grandhalaya Samstha chairman B Prasada Raju and Jakkampudi Vijayalaxmi.
