Ex-Man U star Gary Neville feels Moyes should have been given more time

Former Manchester United star Gary Neville has said that the club owners should have given more time to boss David Moyes before sacking him.

Neville said that he does not like the way in which the club is portraying itself following Moyes’ axing.

According to Sport24, Neville said that in the modern world this is the way things seem to be dealt with currently, but added that he is a traditionalist and feels that the Scot’s sacking could have been dealt with a whole lot better.

Neville, who won eight Premier League titles with United, said that he believes in managers being given time and feels that they should be allowed to complete their work.

The former footballer said that the current United squad should take massive responsibility for the club’s bad season, adding that he had never once during his 17/18-year career at the club blamed the boss after losing a game.

Neville said that is always the players who have to take responsibility and accountability in football.

United owners the Glazer family axed Moyes just 10 months after he had been appointed as Sir Alex Ferguson’s successor as manager at the club, the report added. (ANI)
