Ex-gratia to tappers’ kin raised to Rs 5 lakh

Telangana State Excise Minister T. Padmarao Goud has announced that promotions will be given to the employees of Excise Department very soon.
Addressing a meeting of toddy taper workers held at Ravindra Bharathi here on Monday, Padmarao said the TRS government will provide vehicles and weapons to the Excise department employees. He said toddy trees will be grown on tank bunds as part of Mission Kakathiya program and asked the officials to check country made and cheap liquor flow across the State.
The Minister said the credit of clearing the pending amount of Rs 25 crore during Andhra-ruled governments, goes to TRS government. He said the TRS government was striving to enhance ex gratia to the bereaved families from Rs 2 lakh to Rs 5 lakh and the amount will be sanctioned within 30 days, he added.
Later, the Minister handed over cheques to the families of deceased toddy tapers. (NSS)
