Bhubaneswar, June 30: The Orissa government today announced ex-gratia and pension for families of slain CRPF personnel from Orissa who lost their lives in a Maoist attack at Narayanpur in Chhattisgarh.
Expressing grief over the yesterday’s incident, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik said Rs two lakh each will be given to the next of kin of the eight slain CRPF men from Orissa besides a family pension of Rs 1,275 per month.
The eight were among the 26 CRPF personnel who were killed in an ambush by Maoists in Chhattisgarh.
The eight were identified as Bidyadhar Barik (Kendrapara), Ranjan Kumar Sahu (Sambalpur), Panuram Naik (Mayurbhanj), Tusar Baral (Dhenkanal), C R Hembram (Balasore), Pankaj Mohanty (Keonjhar), Sudam Chandra Dash (Puri) and Gobind Pradhan (Boudh).
