Ex-Egypt Prez Mubarak to be retried yet again over protesters’ killings

An Egyptian appeals court has reportedly directed ousted President Hosni Mubarak to stand for a second retrial over the killing of protesters during the 2011 revolution.

The retrial is scheduled to take place on November 5.

Mubarak was earlier cleared in a retrial in November 2014 after being imprisoned for life over the death of 800 demonstrators during the Arab Spring, reports the BBC.

The 87-year-old leader, who is currently in the Maadi military hospital in Cairo, was also convicted of corruption and sentenced to three years in jail earlier this year.

Mubarak was forced to step down in February 2011 after three decades in power, following mass protests against his regime. (ANI)
