A former police inspector of Narsapur in Medak district was convicted and sentenced to six months’ rigorous imprisonment in a bribery case.
Addl. Principal Judge for ACB Cases, Hyderabad Victor Immanuel pronounced judgment holding Ch. Linganna, formerly Inspector of Police, Narsapur Circle of Medak district guilty of the charge and sentenced him to undergo six months RI and a fine of Rs 2000.
Linganna was trapped by ACB sleuths in 2006 while he demanded and accepted a bribe amount of Rs 3 lakh from one Saagi Satyanarayana Raju for settlement of a land dispute, according to an ACB release. (NSS)
