Hyderabad, August 03: The evicting of encroachments on the footpaths at Chintala basti area in the
city led to some tense moments this morning.
As the personnel of the GHMC geared up to remove the encroachments, local corporator Sultana tried to obstruct them, leading to a heated argument between them. After discussions with the Corporator, the GHMC authorities agreed to give half an hour time to the encroachers to evict the place. Afterwards, policemen in large numbers reached the spot. The officials later completed the eviction peacefully.
It may be mentioned that the authorities of the GHMC have taken up a special drive to clear the pavements and roads of encroachments.
