Hyderabda, July 03: Under the auspices of Madhya Pradesh Urdu Academy, an evening literary session was organized devoted to ‘Humour and Saitre under the chairmanship of noted shortly story writer Mr. Iqbal Majeed Padmashree Mujtaba Hussain & Dr. Syed Mustafa Kamal were specially invited from Hyderabad.
Dr. Basheer Badar, chairman, Mr. Jafer Baig, Vice Chairman & Ms. Nusrath Mehdi, Secretary of the Academy welcomed the guests. Ms. Nusrath Mehdi highlighted the details of the programme. The programme started with humourous poems of Mr. Rasheed Arkan, Mr. Wahed Ansari, Mr. Toofan Aafandi, and Mr. Ajay Pandey (Addl Commissioner, Excise, Bhopal). Dr. Mustafa Kamal spoke, Editor Shugoofta spoke on the current scenario of humourous writings in Urdu. He said that Bhopal is an important center for the development of humourous literature in Urdu.
When Mujtaba Hussain was invited to dais, the entire hall resouveled with thunderous clappings. Mujtaba Hussain in his speech said that Bhopal has been in favourite city and he had visited Bhopal on several occasions. He further said that when Ms. Nusrath Mendi invited him, he could not refuse the invitation Mujtaba Hussain recited three articles which were inked a lot by the audience.
At the end of the meeting Mr. Iqbal Majeed and Prof. Aafaque Ahmed also addressed the gathering. Mr. Naseem Ansari conducted the meeting. His humourous couplets were hiked very much by the audience.
Many writers, poets and noted citizens of the city were present at the meeting.
