Patna, Oct. 19 : Continuing his volley of jibes at the BJP, Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) supremo Lalu Prasad Yadav said on Monday that even inviting former Hindi film heartthrob Hema Malini to campaign for them would not save the ruling party at the Centre from losing the Bihar Assembly polls.
“The BJP has been deflated and if they think calling Hema Malini to campaign for them is going to get them the votes, they could not be more wrong,” Lalu told reporters here.
BJP MP Hema Malini had campaigned for the party candidates in Barbigha, Govindpur, and Warisaliganj earlier this month and asked the voters to come out in favor of NDA candidates saying only the NDA could bring prosperity in the region, since all other parties, including the Congress, RJD, and JD (U) had failed to do anything for the state.
Training his guns on the BJP over the reservation policy row, Lalu said they need to take a stand and decide if they are siding with Mohan Bhagwat who was openly ‘insulting’ M. S. Golwalkar, the second Sarsanghchalak of the RSS.
“BJP should burn Gowalkar’s book ‘Bunch of Thoughts’, if they are siding with Bhagwat over reservation. They keep going back and forth on this issue so if they burn the book once and for all, then their stand will finally be clear,” he said. (ANI)
