European stock markets extend recovery

London: Europe’s main stock markets rose at the open on Thursday, extending a slight recovery after a rout at the start of the week caused by Italy’s political upheaval.

London’s benchmark FTSE 100 index climbed 0.2 percent to 7,701.33 points compared with the close on Wednesday.

In the eurozone, Frankfurt’s DAX 30 gained 0.1 percent to 12,796.16 points and the Paris CAC 40 won 0.3 percent to 5,440.95.
