Corruption will be routed out in Finance Department, Minister for Finance and Civil Supplies, Etela Rajender has said.
During a high level review meeting with the departments’ officials here, Rajender warned of stringent action against the erring officials and staff for corruption. They must shun this malpractice in the best interests of the people, he said adding that Chief Minister K Chandrsekhar Rao has promised to provide a corrupt-free and transparent governance. Unless the staff and employees cope up with the government, we cannot wipe out the scar of corruption, he said.
He said said that steps are being taken to remove corrupt practices coming in the way of development of the state. Admitting that there is a sort of corruption in his own department, he expressed concern that despite their efforts to mitigate the issue, it is being cropped from time to time. He also said that they will soon bring sweeping changes in the civil supplies department. The state will soon witness revolutionary changes in the public distribution system of providing ration items to the people, he said.
