The Winter session of Assembly today saw some heated argument among treasury benches and Opposition on the issue of providing jobs and employment to youth.
Finance Minister Etela Rajender announced to fill up all 1.08 lakh posts as promised and the process is on for filling up 63,152 posts. During short debate on the jobs issue, Rajender slammed the opposition for coming in the way of filling up posts and resorting to make vague comments on the issue. The previous government did not give jobs to youth and Congress leaders are now trying to corner the TRS he fumed.
He also stated that the TRS Government is committed to give jobs and employment. The process of filling these posts is going on in various departments he maintained. Taking a dig at the opposition for politicizing every issue he clarified that there are 4,41,995 posts and 1,08,132 vacancies in the state. No government can provide jobs to all as the vacancies are put at two percent. As achieved statehood with water, funds and jobs as tagline the TRS dispensation is now fulfilling promises one by one he informed to the house.
The minister criticised that several companies closed down due to negligence and lopsided policies of the previous governments. As of now 27,774 posts have been filled up in various departments and the government allotted Rs 1500 cr for recruiting the posts he said. Denying charges as baseless that the government failing to fill up vacancies he said that the US based Apple Company will be set up in Hyderabad and did not go to Bengaluru as being argued by the opposition. New Industrial policy fetched many companies of international repute and the IT department made 30 per cent more exports.
The Finance Minister also made it clear that Kamalanathan committee is yet to divide 1400 posts among two Telugu states. Despite court orders to regularize the contract and outsourcing staff appointed before 1996, Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao has brought a unique policy to provide equal salary to equal work he said. Credit of hiking salaries to 2.20 lakh staff working on contract and outsourcing basis goes to KCR he said. There is no corruption in TSPSC which gave 73 notifications to fill the posts. (NSS)
