Finance Minister, E Rajender today criticised the opposition for coming in the way of irrigation project, farming and development. In the leadership of Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao the ministers, leaders and officials are moving ahead for making agriculture activity a benefit making sector. Timely release of the water, power supply and MSP to the produce are top priority, he said. The projects being built on Godavari will flourish farm sector Karimnagar and other districts.
He said that the farmers were appealed to make use of 9 hour power as 24 hour supply is using more water which is necessary to protect the interests of ayacut farmers. He said that the government is making efforts to ensure that no single agriculture land goes dry. Though the opposition is resorting to make politics against the farmers development and completion of the projects. The farmers are aware of conspiracies of the congress which is taking up protests and yatras he said. The people will teach the opposition a lesson if it failed to mend ways he warned. First priority of the government is to irrigate every acre and increase farm productivity to offer minimum support price to the farmers the finance minister said. Ministers, MLAs and officials are on canals and at field level of projects for speedy completion of the works he said. The irrigation officials were asked to provide adequate waters to lower and upper Maner Dam farmers and others. (NSS)
