Telangana finance minister Etela Rajender today assured that the government would extend all possible help to the Gulf victims.
He was speaking at a private function at Kamalapuram in Karimnagar district when some victims of Gulf met the minister and sought his help. Responding to their request, Etela said they have planned to help Gulf victims on par with Kerala state, for which Rs.500 crore would be allocated. He said they discussed the matter in the recently held cabinet meeting and this was one of 43 issues discussed in the meeting.
The Minister further said the government would fulfill the promises given in the election manifesto to prevent suicide of farmers and to help the beedi workers and Gulf victims, he said. It was Telangana government’s aim to eliminate political corruption and make the state as a model one in the country.
Taking a dig at the Andhra leaders, Etela said “we have no experience in cheating the people. But we have experience in sending cheaters and brokers to jail”.
