Etala, Talasani visit Gandhi Hospital, slam Congress

Hyderabad: Animal Husbandry Minister Talsani Srinivas Yadav and Health Minister Etela Rajender today lashed out at the Congress and BJP for resorting to false publicity on viral fevers and dengue fever to create panic among the public. The two ministers visited Gandhi Hospital at Secunderabad on Friday and interacted with the patients about the health services in the hospital. They said there was no need for panic among people, who can avail better health care services in the hospital.

Talking to media persons later, the ministers slammed the Opposition parties for unnecessarily blaming the government on health issues for cheap publicity. “We appeal to the media to be restraint and give necessary publicity on health facilities, which are being improved with medicines in the government hospitals”, they said.

They also expressed displeasure at the Opposition parties for moving courts against the government’s move to recruit doctors, nurses, and staff. The congress should stop indulging in vilification campaign against the government on health facilities, dengue, and viral diseases, they said, adding that of 51,000 patients examined, only 62 of them caught dengue fever and were treated in fever hospital. They also said 419 patients were successfully treated at Gandhi hospital. The Opposition parties should stop mischievous propaganda to misguide people, they warned.

Stating that fogging machines will be pressed into service to address the mosquito menace, the ministers said a medical college with 600 beds will come up soon. As there was a change in the environment, people should be careful about the possible spread of viral fevers, they suggested. They also made it clear that all fevers are not viral except dengue fever.
