Hyderabad: Soon after crossing over to the ruling TRS, former floor leader of Telugu Desam (TS) Errabelli Dayakar Rao today fired his first salvo against his former boss and AP Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu.
Interacting with mediapersons in Assembly lobbies on Saturday during debate on motion of thanks to Governor’s address, Dayakar Rao made a sensational remark saying that the merger of 12 TD legislators into the ruling TRS party was nothing when compared to a previous incident of Chandrababu Naidu dethroning TDP founder-president and then Chief Minister N T Rama Rao in a bloodless coup to become Chief Minister. “Everybody knew what Chandrababu had done and managed to get support from other members to become chief minister by replacing NTR, he said sarcastically.
When asked, Errabelli said 12 TDP members joining into the ruling party was purely a merger and not at all a defection. Denying to have made any call for joining the ruling party, Dayakar Rao said it is for Speaker S Madhusudhan Chary to clarify on merger and recognition as the ruling party members. Claiming to be the most recognized leader in the State after Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao, Dayakar said he was continuing as an associate member of the TRS. (NSS)
